Many customers come to us asking for a turnkey solution - software, hardware, and training.  We have many years of experience recommending and providing voice compatible hardware.

Everyone's needs are different, so please give us a call if you need to upgrade your computer or purchase new to run Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.

Basically, a desktop with adequate speed and memory will work, as long as you have an approved, tested sound card.  The least expensive Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live! or Audigy cards are your best bet, about $30.  On board audio chips may work, or may give suboptimal performance.

Laptop performance varies, because the audio system built onto the motherboard can pick up electrical or mechanical noise, and degrade speech performance.  Roughly 70% of laptops we have tested work well out of the box.  Unfortunately, because manufacturers change models so quickly (a matter of weeks or months) we often cannot provide current recommendations.

If your laptop does not work well for voice, 95% of the time using a USB microphone or USB adapter for your microphone will take care of the problem.
